About the collective
A ten-piece funk and disco engine room from Geneva, built around a tight horn section, two lead vocals and a rhythm trio with serious dancefloor credentials.
The story
G-Funk Collective came together in 2019 in the rehearsal rooms of the Geneva conservatory and the back rooms of the rive gauche jazz clubs. A shared obsession with the golden age of Philadelphia, Memphis and New York dancefloors brought together musicians from the city's funk, jazz and pop scenes. Five years and several hundred shows later, the project has played corporate stages in Zurich and Basel, summer festivals across Romandie and weddings from Lake Geneva to Lake Como.
The line-up
Two lead vocals · trumpet, saxophone and trombone · guitar, bass and drums · Rhodes, clavinet and synths · percussion. The band scales from a tight trio to the full ten-piece show depending on the room.
Players & past credits
